Because I have 5 days. So to Taipei.

Never would I thought I will do this. Bought air tickets on impulse and fly. Just because I was encouraged to take leaves. Hmm.. But I did it.

And I flew to Taipei. Check out my short getaway below! Let the photos do the talking!

On Labour Day, early morning, I excitedly packed my bag and headed to Changi Airport, Dad sent me there! Love Love!

Boarded the plane after strolling to and fro @ Duty Free serveral times.

Upon reaching Taoyuan Airport, that was already 4pm+. Shack out. Dragged my luggage and took a public bus (close to an hour ride) to Taipei Main Station. Coincidentally witnessed an accident, car knocked bus backside. Instead of taking the bus to Xi Men Ding, we took a train instead, since that knocked-bus ceased ferrying of passengers.

And after alighting the train (just one stop from Taipei Main Station), squeezed all the way through the heart of Xi Men Ding to hotel. Heh^^

After dumping the half-filled luggage bag in hotel room, first thing i did was to visit Mian Xian Uncle::

And then took a train (they called it 捷运) to 士林 Shilin Station to their Shilin Night Market for dinner and arcade and walk walk::

After having our stomachs filled, went shopped around, try our luck at Arcade. And the best activity was fishing prawns there! NTD10 for a try. The short sticks are tied with very fragile thread with hooks. Very easy to break the thread when you tried to hook up the prawns. I caught NONE.

Oh well, this is the pen i got while playing some silly arcade. Heh^^::

So back to shopping @ Shilin to Jiantan and took a 小黄 taxi back to hotel. Slept at pretty late like near to 3am because the TV programs were just great and the position of the TV in my room is perfect. HAH!

Waking up in the morning almost impossible. So woke at pretty late, near 12pm then left hotel for a day trip to 淡水 Dan Shui.

I had some donuts as brunch before moving off to the near coast area. Really thirsty hot weather!::

Just me and my water::Ordered a frog @ roadside stall and the auntie is making it! So happy::Ended up, have to carry my frog in a plastic bag to everywhere I go the entire day -.- (Fresh from her hands, still soft soft, so have to be kept in a cup)
Chanced upon booth selling ferry tickets and so i bought to 渔人码头 Fisherman's Wharf tickets! There it is, the 情人桥 Lovers' Bridge!::I think I look like a stingray, not quite what i expect the photo to turn out be...::Returned to Dan Shui land was still early so went shopped around again. Bought this lighter which I already had in mind who should I use it to irritate, hehe. When the lid opens, a naked woman is shown. Very porn la::And I had TWO of this. Scallops! Less than SGD5. Steaming hot and simply juicy with the margarine taste as well. Fantastic!::While eating this, was pretty happily-disturbed by a stream of nice voice.... Looking around, street performer, handsome lookin chap singing his lungs away. I SWEAR he is good in his singing.. Amazingly GOOD::So the day ended early and took a train back. Slept on the train. Freaking sleepy. So sleepy the moment I reach Xi Men Ding, I showered, watch a little bit of TV and dozed off before 12am.

Of course, took out my previous frog to dry before sleeping. Even tried using hair dryer to dry it. hehe::

Woke early deliberately for the hotel breakfast since i missed it the day before. Terribly disappointed. Ended up with a plain porridge with hard boiled eggs and buttered self-toasted bread.

Today is to Taipei 101!

So I went up to 89th storey Observatory, there me is!::Me spending redundant money, NTD20 to have few minutes use of this telescope. Not even knowing which direction is which part of Taipei actually. HAHA::After buying souvenirs and taking photos and also went up to 91st storey outdoor Observatory, left Taipei 101 mall to the opposite for some crazy shopping at....... DAISO.

The loots (after much control) from DAISO, cheaper than SGD2 leh!::

After llittle shopping, took a cab to Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall::Lucky for me to have reached at the correct time! Caught the guards parade in time! Changing shifts::Chinese is forever amazing. A HUGE wall of 15 rules. So huge my standing height only reached the most bottom 2nd character. And obviously I cannot understand any single full sentence::And 'cos the expedition ended early, I was restless, headed out from hotel to have a walk in Xi Men Ding again::And finally found the 马桶店, toilet bowl shop. Unfortunately it was closed :(The last full day was spent going to 地热谷 Hell Valley @ 新北投 XinBeiTou. Climbing those slopes up and down was tiring! Just for the sake to find a comfy resort where i can soak myself in those hot spring!::Hot steamy springs!::And took a cab to 明山 Yang Ming Shan National Park @ the bottom of Hell Valley. There, I took a photo with the giantic clock under hot hot hot sun::After walking for sometime, didnt visit the entire National Park though since weather is too unbearably hot. Took a mini bus (freak squeezy) to Train station to 中正纪念馆 Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall::Not too sure if this is the National Theatre or National Concert Hall::Check out this doggie tour guide :pAnd i asked a stupid question. "Why they put one Sun here?" I received strange stares and the reply was "It is Taiwan National Flag symbol" I zipped immediately!::So there, Chiang Kai-Shek, sat::So from here, i walked from 中正纪念馆 Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall to 总统府 Presidential Office Building to Xi Men Ding for a hearty dinner - Mala Steamboat Buffet::And slept nicely. :)

Then the next morning, time to fly back. Most stalls only opened after 11am so I have to resort to having MacDonalds as breakfast. LOL

And proud to say, I donated all my TWENTY ONE receipts::And of course, through all the walking, saw Ip Man 2 posters EVERYWHERE, reminded myself someone has to watch it with me back in Singapore! As a result, a little gift i bought in Taipei for him~A lighter that when the lid is opened, a naked woman picture shows. When the lid is closed, it is an ordinary mirror. HEHE :)

Nice! Short Getaway SUCCESS.
